The peculiar metamorphose of a lace fabric

Once upon a time there was a gorgeous royal blue lace fabric purchased by a surprisingly young woman. She was sewing a silk dress in the same color for the marriage of her sister in law saying in summer 1992. But the dress was made with an open back and she didn’t want to go to the church like this. So she was looking for something to hide her shoulders and found this incredible lace fabric perfectly matching her dress. She simply made a stole of it but the fabric didn’t care as it came into its own anyway.

But after the celebration and the dazzling party it landed in a large box mixed with a lot of other fabrics – but no one being so gorgeous like this particular one. So it truly believed to become applied very soon…but no… It stayed in the chest for years, it almost couldn’t count anymore. Someday the whole chest was moved to another house, some of the fabric were mastered, others joined – but nothing happened with the lace fabric.

After more than 20 years the fabric just had accepted to stay in the chest forever it was taken and sewed to an amazing extraordinary dress. It still needed another fabric to be combined with and this time it was a bright royal blue jersey. Later the fabric learned this dress was inspired by a great Italian designer called Ermanno Scervinothe original one now sold here – and was compensated for all these IMG_1295years almost being forgotten in the basement.

And if it didn’t die – and it did – it lives happily ever…IMG_1310
