“It’s a boy”-sweater

IMG_2219As I always recommend to do best is to wash your fabric before to master it. Because if there should be any shrinking or so this happens before you invested a lot of time, effort and love to sew something nice of it.
So I did with my light blue jersey. I love to use a special detergent with a very yummy perfume of lavender – I adore so much. And when I was about to sew the sweater yesterday this odor (it more smelled like a baby cream…) combined with this sweet shade of light blue I constantly thought of these postcards to announce the birth of a baby “It’s a boy” or “It’s a girl”…

To add some rather more adult detail I embellished it (inspired by this shirt by Schumacher) by stitching pearls, crystals and sequins on the neck so you don’t need any other accessoires 🙂 – I must say that this will be another “darling piece” of my wardrobe…

Today it is perfect worn with my Guido for fall pants (DIYs I N°6)and my wool coat (DIYs I N° 18) to step out and soak the sun – it feels sooo good!!!
