Make it easy

IMG_0351

I hope you all had a great start into this new virgin week…
During the last few days I thought about writing something about how to simplify your life – not in the way you have read it so often before but with some very explicit ideas by me.

When I slipped into my clothes this morning I realized once more that it is not so important to have so many different clothes and to that huge variety of garments. It is much easier – especially if you sew some of your clothes yourself – not to have such a wide variety but rather have a variation of looks that work well for you. My look of today for example can be varied by my lace pants (DIYs II N°9) – sewed exactly due to same pattern – and one of those basic embellished shirts – I made four just by changing the color and the pearls… If you start sewing or if you don’t have the time or the diligence to first prepare a muslin of new unknown pattern you haven’t used before it is best to start with very easy and basic patterns and change them on occasion in the way you want to sew a new garment. You need a pattern of pants to fit perfectly so that you can change little details like pockets or the position of the zip (like in my case today – it is on the side). And if you look at the shirt: I did not even sew four shirts due to its pattern but also one of my dresses (DIYs II N°20) of the creamy white collection! Just open your mind and don’t stick too close to what the pattern is supposed to become. Think of the fitting and the rest can be changed according to your wishes, abilities and your diligence as well 🙂

So my “hybrid” look of the day is made of
my big tulip pants (DIYs II N°28)
and my basic shirt in dark grey (DIYs II N°17)

My heels are by Pour La Victoire also comparable to those by Sam Edelman, my bag by 8 (similar one here by Calvin Klein) and my cool sunglasses by WOOD FELLAS (they’re a gift of my son)!IMG_0330 IMG_0327 IMG_0318 IMG_0369 IMG_0348 IMG_0338 IMG_0331
