After having had such wonderful evenings in Mannheim at Speicher7 (here a few pics), my husband and me were quite excited about how this evening would become at King Karl… Honestly spoken, it was different to what we expected…
The pictures in the internet promised a location being really chic and cool in the middle of the city with a beautiful view over the roofs of Karlsruhe. But the people there were so much younger than us (just a few years older than our children…) looking like ordinary students so that we quickly not just felt a little wrong there but also kind of overdressed.
We roamed the streets of Karlsruhe without finding another lovely place comparable to our favorite bar in Mannheim and finally closed the night in our private “cocktail bar” in our back yard 🙂
Anyhow, though I was very overdressed I felt great in my new dress and was (and still am) very proud of it, indeed!
Of course, it isn’t possible to find a similar convenient one (I just took the short remnants of my portfolio – the black and the golden were from Schumacher’s friends’ boutique, a rest of my fabric haul of last autumn – each one of it being too little for anything else…) but I found out that my look of a flared very short cocktail dress combined with provoking high heels, leather bracelet and a mid size purse obviously must be a kind of a uniform: Many of dresses I found in some online shops were shown with similar accessoires and shoes like mine.
